Got this call at 1:01PM ET. Landline. I picked up/hung up softly without answering to break the call, prevent my ans. mach. from picking up and to 'confuse' the robodialer. Seems to help cut down on the number and frequency of these, at least.
There was a SCAM ALERT in our newspaper today about how these scams are targeting our area code (413) in order to fool people that its from our local credit union. Also SCAM TEXTING people.
I knew right away by looking at the number it was a SCAM because of the ZERO in the second set of numbers. ONLY AREA CODES are supposed to have a ZERO (or a "ONE" in the middle set, in the middle position. Thus the "0" in the "204" shows its SPAM.
Like everyone else, my caller ID said "Wireless Caller".
